WereDigital Privacy Policies

Procedures for handling customer information has been created with the understanding that Internet technologies are still evolving and that Internet business methods are continuing to evolve to meet the needs and opportunities of the changing technologies. As a result, WereDigital Hosting Inc.   policies and procedures are subject to change. In the course of serving its customers, WereDigital Hosting Inc. acquires, stores and transmits customer communications and information that customers may regard as private or sensitive. Some of this information - such as the customer's name, address, telephone number, and credit card data - is provided to WereDigital Hosting Inc. by its customers in order to establish service. Other information - such as the customer's account status, choice of services, and customer logs - is created and maintained by WereDigital Hosting Inc. in the normal course of providing service. WereDigital Hosting Inc. also uses cookies, which are small pieces of information that a web site can store in a designated file on a user's computer for various reasons. For example, WereDigital Hosting Inc. uses cookies to monitor who goes and comes from our networks. WereDigital Hosting Inc. . may store customers' electronic mail and other communications as a necessary incident to the transmission and delivery of those communications.

WereDigital.com a division of WereDigital Hosting Inc. will protect the confidentiality of its customers' information, account information and personal communications to the fullest extent possible and consistent with the law and the legitimate interests of WereDigital Hosting Inc. , its partners, its employees and other customers of WereDigital Hosting Inc. services. To protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of information that is collected from customers, WereDigital Hosting Inc. has appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in place.

How is customer information used?

WereDigital Hosting Inc. does not share personal or corporate information beyond the scope of totally anonymous statistical data. All customer data remains confidential. WereDigital Hosting Inc. may use customer information to provide its customers with system information or information about new or upgraded products.

Opt Out Modifications

Customers may opt out of receiving notices of new or upgraded products from WereDigital and WereDigital Inc. partners.To do so complete a request to the Privacy Officer. 

in this request the customers must identify:

  • Service purchased from WereDigital
  • Domain name (if applicable)
  • Contact information
  • The date the service was purchased.

However, customers may not opt out of receiving information from WereDigital Hosting Inc.  which is essential for maintaining or updating customers' accounts or system information. Most customers may access and modify their personal information via their online personal control panel/account information page. All other customers may access and modify their personal information by contacting the appropriate WereDigital Hosting Inc. billing Contact.

Domain name

Domain name customers who have registered a domain name with WereDigital Hosting Inc. and wish to change the Technical Contact from WereDigital Hosting Inc.  to another company, may send a request to the Domain Administrator at WereDigital . It is important to note that customer domain name registration information is made publicly available in the registry of domain names unless the "privacy" Option is purchased

Disclosure of Customer Information and Communications

WereDigital Hosting Inc. will not otherwise disclose its customers' personal and account information unless WereDigital Hosting Inc. has reason to believe that disclosing such information is necessary to identify, make contact with, or bring legal action against someone who may be causing harm or interfering with the rights or property of WereDigital Hosting Inc. , WereDigital Hosting Inc. customers, or others, or where WereDigital Hosting Inc. has a good faith belief that the law requires such disclosure. WereDigital Hosting Inc. also will not, except for reasons stated below, disclose to third parties the contents of any electronic mail or other electronic communications that WereDigital Hosting Inc. stores or transmits for its customers. The circumstances under which WereDigital Hosting Inc.  will disclose such electronic customer communications are when:

  • it is necessary in order to provide service to the customer
  • it is necessary to protect the legitimate interests of WereDigital Hosting Inc. and its customers
  • it is required to cooperate with interception orders, warrants, or other legal process that WereDigital Hosting Inc. determines in its sole discretion to be valid and enforceable
  • it is necessary to provide to a law enforcement agency when the contents are inadvertently obtained by WereDigital Hosting Inc. and appear to pertain to the commission of a crime.
  • WereDigital Hosting Inc.  disclaims any intention to censor, edit or engage ongoing review or surveillance of communications stored on or transmitted through its facilities by customers or others. WereDigital Hosting Inc. will, however, review, delete or block access to communications that may harm WereDigital Hosting Inc. , its customers or third parties. The grounds on which WereDigital Hosting Inc.  may take such action include, but are not limited to, actual or potential violations of WereDigital Hosting Inc. Acceptable Use Policy.

WereDigital Hosting Inc. makes every reasonable attempt to safeguard customer privacy. Except where required by regulation, court order, official authority or applicable law, WereDigital Hosting Inc. will not make available individual customer information or data to any third party. The customer understands, agrees and acknowledges that individual customer information or data collected will only be used by WereDigital Hosting Inc. for internal purposes, including but not limited to, improving WereDigital Hosting Inc. services or extending special offers to the customer. The customer understands, agrees and acknowledges that customers administrative contact information in relation to customers domain registration is public information and WereDigital Hosting Inc. is not and can not be obligated to safeguard such information and data from any third party. Domain Privacy can be obtained from participating registries for a nominal fee to not have that information be displayed to the public. Contact the WereDigital Domain Administrator to inquire about such a feature.  

Electronic Newsletters

WereDigital.com offers free electronic newsletters to users. WereDigital Hosting Inc. gathers the e-mail addresses of users who voluntarily subscribe. Customers may remove themselves from any mailing list by following the instructions contained in every newsletter or on our site. They can also subscribe to the newsletters at the time of registration.


WereDigital.com occasionally conducts customer surveys to better target our content and product inventory to our audience. We sometimes share the aggregated demographic information in these surveys with our advertisers and partners. We never share any information about specific individuals with any third party, except as noted previously.

Contests and sweepstakes

WereDigital.com occationally offers contests and sweepstakes in which we request certain personal information. These contests and sweepstakes are conducted in full accordance with United States and Canadian federal, state and provincial laws. The full rules and all information about such contests are clearly posted during such events. Information gathered is used only to verify user identity and to contact winners and/or prize recipients, except when specifically noted otherwise. Again, we do not share information about specific individuals with any third party, except as noted previously.

Usage tracking

WereDigital.com tracks user traffic patterns throughout WereDigital.com and this information is correlated with data about individual users. Overall usage statistics, according to a user's domain name, browser type and MIME type gotten by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser), are also broken down.
WereDigital.com also tracks and catalogs the search terms that customers enter into our search tools, but this tracking is never associated with individual users.


A cookie is a small data file that certain Web sites write to your hard drive when you visit them. A cookie file can contain information such including a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you've visited. But the only personal information a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie can't read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. WereDigital.com uses cookies to track the items you add to your shopping card and to enforce security rules regarding software that you download.

If you've set your browser to warn you before accepting cookies, you will receive the warning message with each cookie. You can refuse cookies by turning them off in your browser. However, you need to have cookies turned on to purchase Domain registrations through billing.WereDigital.com one of our subsidiary web sites.

Use of the information

WereDigital.com uses any information voluntarily given by our users to enhance their experience in our network of sites, whether to provide interactive or personalized elements on the sites or to better prepare future content based on the interests of our users.

As stated above, WereDigital Hosting Inc.  uses information that users voluntarily provide in order to send out electronic newsletters and enable users to participate in polls and message boards. We send out newsletters to subscribers on a regular schedule (daily or weekly, depending on the newsletter) and occasionally send out special editions when we think subscribers might be particularly interested in something we are doing. WereDigital Hosting Inc.  never shares newsletter mailing lists with any third parties, including advertisers or partners.

We use tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. WereDigital Hosting Inc. does not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.

We track search terms entered in our search function as one of many measures of what interests our users. But we don't track which terms a particular user enters.

WereDigital Inc. creates aggregate reports on user demographics and traffic patterns for advertisers and affiliates. This allows our advertisers to advertise more effectively and allows our users to receive advertisements that are pertinent to their needs. WereDigital Inc. never shares individual personal information with anyone, so an advertiser will never know that a specific user clicked their ad.

WereDigital Inc.uses the above-described information to tailor our content to suit your needs and help our advertisers better understand our audience demographics. We do not share information about individual users with any third party, with the exceptions noted previously.

Opt-Out Policy

WereDigital.com gives users options wherever necessary and practical, such choices include:

  • Opting not to receive our electronic newsletters when registering for a site.
  • Opting not to provide certain personal information when registering for a site or service.
  • Opting not to participate in certain interactive areas, which completely alleviates the need for any information from our users
